-- Iran to launch Mideast largest zinc plant
The largest zinc processing factory in the Middle East will be launched in central Iran.
Possessing over 700 million tons of mineral reserves of lead and zinc, and about 170 million tons of extractable reserves, the Mahdiabad Lead and Zinc and Barite Mine Complex is considered the second largest reserve in the world, said the director of the complex, Hamidreza Hemayat.
-- Iran’s steel production capacity up by 200K tons
Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Abbas Ali-Abadi inaugurated the second phase of the Bisotoun Steel Company in the western province of Kermanshah on Saturday.
By launching the development project, the annual sponge iron production capacity of the plant increased by 200,000 tons. The mill’s second phase, that includes smelting and reduction units, created 472 job.

Amir Hossein Taei, a skilled viola player, unveiled his book ‘Famous Viola Concertos’ in the global music market. This publication stands as the first-ever work dedicated to the viola by an Iranian artist in the international music field.
Taei’s book compiles and presents several prominent concertos for the viola, including pieces such as ‘Concerto in E Minor, Oskar Reiding,’ and ‘Viola Concerto No. 2, by Friedrich Seitz.’

-- Iran, Uzbekistan to Broaden Cooperation in Agricultural Sector
Head of Iran’s Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO) Seyed Mojtaba Khayyam Nekouei in his meeting with the head of the Iran-Uzbekistan Trade Center in Tashkent on Saturday emphasized that the two countries enjoy high potential to develop their cooperation in the agricultural sector. The two officials vowed to expand their technical and scientific cooperation in the agricultural sector.
-- Tehran Holds Persian Language Training Course
A Persian language training course of teachers for foreigners residing in Iran and interested in Persian language has started in Tehran. Teachers from Lebanon, Turkmenistan, Ahvaz, Shiraz, Dezful, Kerman, Mazandaran, Kashan and Tehran are taking part in the course.
The one-week training course will be held by instructors of prominent universities of the country. The educational chapters of the new course include titles such as “Teaching and Learning Planning”, “Teacher’s Professional Growth”, “Communication Language and Culture”, “Learning Measurement” and “Teaching and Learning Support” and are followed in the course of eight workshops.
-- Minister: 1,531 Prisoners Exchanged With Countries
Iranian Minister of Justice Amin Hussein Rahimi said Saturday that a total of 1,531 prisoners have been exchanged between Iran and other countries.
Since President Raisi’s administration began in August 2021, 14 bilateral documents have been signed with nine countries, and 1,531 Iranian prisoners were extradited, Rahimi told IRNA.

“For The Sake of Ava” is a story about a group of teenage girls who are part of a theater group and are trying to attend a festival abroad. Ava, an Iranian-Afghan immigrant, is the main actress in the group and is struggling to obtain a passport. The film highlights the challenges and resilience of young artists pursuing their dreams in the face of adversity.
-- Iran ready to resume negotiations on NDB membership: Official
Iranian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Mehdi Safari said on Friday that the country is completely ready to resume discussions on potential membership in BRICS' New Development Bank (NDB), IRNA reported. Speaking in a meeting with NDB Head Dilma Vana Rousseff on the sidelines of the 15th BRICS Summit in South Africa, Safari invited Rousseff to visit Iran so that the country can have a share as a new member state in the bank and utilize its potential to finance projects.
Safari said that Iran’s membership in the bank would be a positive and helpful step for the country.
